Parents

KL Rahul was born in Mangalore. Rahul's father, Dr. KN Lokesh, is the head and a professor of the Department of Civil Engineering at NITK, Surathkal and his mother, Rajeshwari is a professor of history at Mangalore University.

Apart from Rahul, he also has a younger sister in the family, whose name is Bhavna.

Childhood

KL Rahul's father, Dr. Lokesh was a big fan of Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar despite being a big academic. Because of which he wanted to name his son after Sunil Gavaskar's son. But he accidentally put Rahul instead of Rohan. But by the time he realized his mistake, Rahul's birth certificate had been made.

His father's obsession with cricket had the effect that Rahul was a cricket enthusiast since childhood.

His father, Dr. Lokesh, says about this,

   " Rahul started playing cricket at a young age. But I saw that he started taking an interest in cricket too much. Then I told him, Rahul, if you pay attention to your studies along with cricket, only then you can carry your cricket on."

Rahul obeyed his father and started paying equal attention to both his initial interests.

Its result was soon seen when the glass of the windows of the neighboring houses broke while playing the match in the field of NITK. But 11-year-old Rahul used to play cricket with a tennis ball.

At the same time, under-13 team selection was being done in Mangalore district, Rahul also went there with his father. But failed to be selected.

But the father was fully aware of his son's cricketing skills, so he took Rahul to the Nehru Maidan of Dakshina Kannada Cricket Association to teach him formal cricket, where he started his cricketing education from cricketing guru Samuel Jayaraj.

But 11-year-old KL Rahul's initial cricketing journey was not so easy, he had to spend hours on a bus every day to reach the academy, 20 km from the school in Surathkal.

But Rahul was always at the forefront of learning cricket. His childhood coach, Jayaraj, says about this,

    "Rahul was the youngest of almost all the children. So we used to ask him to keep wickets with us. Due to this, he wished to keep wicket, which was a profitable deal for him. Keeping wicket from a young age, he came to watch the bowlers' hands and the ball closely. This habit was very helpful in strengthening his batting skills."

Soon Rahul started attacking his Mangalore team with his excellent batting performance. Confirming this, coach Jayaraj says,

   " When Rahul was out early, the entire Mangalore team was all out within 100 runs. But when he used to play a good tip, Mangalore easily defeated big teams like Bangalore. His batting style was the hallmark of keeping the strike with two toes in the over, boundaries and a single off the last ball."

KL Rahul had so far been selected in the under-13 team of Mangalore.

One day he was playing a related match in the same category at the Chinnaswamy Stadium and there was already The Indian Wall Rahul Dravid. KL Rahul also hit a double century hitting a four on the spot.

Dravid was very impressed and told his coach,

KL Rahul also got to live in Mangalore under the patronage of former Karnataka player Somsekhar Shirguppi and GK Anil Kumar, from whom he got to learn a lot.

Due to which Rahul had become the best player at the initial level, now there was nothing for him to learn in Mangalore.

 Under-19 World Cup Debut


At the age of 17, Rahul shifted to Bangalore with his family. Where he soon got a big reward for his better game, when the year of 2010 brought him a chance of triple happiness.

On the one hand, he was selected in the Indian cricket team for the Under-19 World Cup and on the other hand, he got a chance to debut in first-class matches against Punjab while playing for Karnataka and on the third side he made a debut against Hyderabad for List A. Were all three of his debut was excellent.

Rahul's first season of first-class matches was filled with mountains of runs. He scored 1033 runs in the 2010–11 season. In which he also scored three memorable centuries and played a spectacular inning of 131 runs against Maharashtra in the final match.

Test Match Debut

BCCI had enough to woo Rizhana with runs scored by KL Rahul in the 2013-14 season. The selection team of BCCI selected him as a replacement for Rohit Sharma for the 2014 Australia Tour.

But he failed to make a successful debut by scoring 3 and 1 in both innings, but he got a lot to learn from big players like Virat Kohli, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ajinkya Rahane on this tour.

IPL Debut

Being a fast emerging player from Karnataka, he was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013, where he got a golden opportunity to keep an international competition for the first time.

The year 2014 was something special for KL Rahul, playing for South John, scoring superb centuries (185, 130) in both innings of the Duleep Trophy final against Central John and 337 off 448 balls in the Ranji matches against Uttar Pradesh. Scored, became the first player from Karnataka to score a triple century.

And scored 188 against Tamil Nadu in the final of the Ranji match. In this way, he scored an excellent average of 93.11 in the current year's Ranji season.

In this year's IPL season he played for Sunrise Hyderabad and in 2016 he again joined his old IPL team Royal Challenger Bangalore.

ODI Match Debut

KL Rahul performed brilliantly in IPL matches and won the ticket for the Indian ODI and Test team on the tour of Zimbabwe in 2016.

Where he did it in the first ODI match played against Zimbabwe on 11 June 2016, which no one could do in 40 years of Indian cricket. Yes, he made a new history in 40 years of Indian cricket, hitting a century in an ODI debut match. He is the first and only player from India to do so.

He scored 196 runs in the current series and was successful in winning the Man of the Match and the Man of the Series awards once.

Education

By the way, KL Rahul got his initial education from NITK English Medium School. But when he had completed his school, his parents intended that his son study engineering.
