Childhood & Parents

Rohit Sharma was born into a Brahmin family in Bansod, Nagpur, Maharashtra. His mother Purnima Sharma was from Visakhapatnam, hence he also knows the Telugu language.

His father Gurunath Sharma used to work as a caretaker in Storehouse, a transport firm. But there was not enough income to take care of their education and education along with household expenses.

Cricket Career

 

Rohit Sharma made his 2005 debut for the List A in the Deoghar Trophy against Central John. In which he scored 142 off Unbeaten 123 balls against North John at Udaipur. Which gave him a new identity in home matches.

He made his debut for India A in first-class matches in 2006 against New Zealand A in Darwin.

The same year he also made his debut for Ranji. But he could not make good runs in the early days, except 205 runs from 267 balls, which he scored against Gujarat.

In February 2007, in the Ranji match being played between Mumbai VS Bengal, in which Sachin Tendulkar was also playing, he won Mumbai by scoring a half-century.

In 2007, he got a chance to make his ODI debut against Ireland. But not a single time he got a chance to bat on this tour of Ireland. For this reason, he scored the first run at the international level on 20 September 2007.

Rohit Sharma confirmed the team's victory by playing an 85-run partnership with Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Indian team on the verge of defeat against South Africa at the 2007 ICC World Twenty20. He was awarded the Man of the Match Award for this combative performance.

He also scored 30 runs in that World Cup final against Pakistan on a brilliant 16 balls, which became a major reason for India Team's victory.

He made his first half-century against Pakistan in Jaipur on 18 November 2007. But after some time their performance slowly started to come down. Due to which Suresh Raina started playing in his place in the Indian team and Virat Kohli was replaced by the reserve player.

These were the days of Rohit's Struggle. In which he used to make every effort for a low-back in the Indian team. He used to take the help of Yoga also.

In 2013, he made his Test debut against the West Indies, in which he scored 177 runs. But despite a great start, the Test matches were not as successful as they were expected to be. He currently has no place in the Test team.

Shy Rohit has been very successful in T20 and ODI matches. The proof of this is 209 runs against Australia in their ODI matches and 264 runs against Sri Lanka. And he is the only batsman in the world to score two double centuries in ODIs.

When he was asked about the failure in Test matches?
