Virender Sehwag Career:

Early career - He was fond of cricket since childhood, the funniest thing was that when he was just seven years old, he was first given a bat by his father as a toy. Once when he was young, he had a broken tooth while playing cricket, due to which his father was against playing his cricket. But seeing his interest, he got permission to play cricket again on his mother's request.

Early stages of his career:

  •     First of all, he started his career by joining Delhi Cricket in 1997-1998.
  •     In 1998, he was selected by the North Zone cricket team for the Duleep Trophy, when he was named fifth in the total running list. The next year, after hard work, his name came in fourth place in the running list, in which he scored two seven fours. After this, Ranji Trophy was played against Punjab in South Zone, Agartala in Three, Twenty Seven Balls in One Seventy Five.
  •     He was then selected to the Under-19 squad, which was played against South Africa.

One Day International (ODI) Career -

  •     Their start in this did not go well at all, this was their first big match in 1999, which was played against Pakistan. In this, he was dismissed by scoring a run, in which Shoaib Akhtar had run him out in LBW. In this match, his bowling performance was also very bad, in which he gave thirty five runs in three overs. With this interest, he did not get a chance to play in the national team for almost twenty months.
  •     In 2000, he was not given a chance to play against Zimbabwe again. After sustained failure, he worked very hard in 2001 and this was shown when he scored 58 in 54 balls by playing against Australia in Bangalore and won the first man of the match award. Then he was elected as a member of the national team, from here his real career started, due to which he registered his participation in international sports. But he did not stop playing for his team Delhi.
  •     He again achieved the feat of his success in Sri Lanka in 2001 when he was selected for the match against New Zealand in the tree-series. In which Sachin Tendulkar could not play due to his injury, then Ajuddin scored 62 and Yuvraj scored sixty four balls and he scored a century for the first time from his seventy-nine balls. With this, it was the first fastest century in the third ODI.
  •     In ODIs, the first score of more than fifty runs in ten matches was kept for which he was given the man of the match. Sachin and Sehwag's partnership was considered the best during any match. He was selected as a regular player in ODIs after consistent performances.
  •     In January 2002, due to injury to cricketer Saurabh Ganguly, he got another chance in which he scored a good batting performance against Kanpur in Kanpur by scoring sixty four balls.
  •     Apart from this, he played the Cricket World Cup in 2003, in which he scored two hundred ninety-nine runs, which had an average of twenty seven runs. During this match, he scored eighty runs by playing against Australia in the final but unfortunately India lost it. Playing one match after the other in succession, he played against New Zealand in Hyderabad in 2003, in which Sachin and his partnership was made, scoring one hundred and thirty runs, scoring one hundred and twenty eighty runs and scoring a fourth century.
  •     Won three MOM Awards in 2004 ODIs which were played against Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. His best performance was in Kochi when he played against Pakistan in that he scored a brilliant victory by scoring one zero at the ninth five balls.
  •     In 2006, due to injury to shoulder, Pakistan did not play properly for two years in ODIs, due to which their score board went down its graph and fell behind in ODIs. Because of which he was dropped from the WI-IND match. It was a very difficult time for them, due to which they were refused to take part in the 2007 World Cup. Then captain Rahul Dravid, showing confidence in him, included him in the team but Sehwag was a failure in him and his performance in the first group was poor. But after this, he made his magnificent return, one hundred and fourteen runs in Satyasi balls. With this, the Indian team scored the most runs in the World Cup, which was their only win in the tournament.
  •     In 2009, he scored the fastest century in ODIs against New Zealand, which was hit on fifty balls. This was the first series against New Zealand in which he led India, it was a big win for him.
  • He broke all the records so far by playing against the West Indies in Indore in 2011. In this match, Sehwag scored two hundred nineteen runs in one hundred forty five balls and crossed the record of eight thousand runs in ODI cricket. Here he proved to be a strong player for the Indian team.
In the first tour of South Africa in the England series, he scored four Twenty Sixes with four fifties.
After returning from the England tour, he scored two seven one runs in the ICC Champion's Trophy, in which he got the man of the match twice. Here was his partnership with Ganguly, in which he scored one hundred twenty six runs in one hundred and four balls and registered a win against England by eight wickets.
With this, they played against the West Indies in Rajkot and won by nine wickets. The biggest thing was that New Zealand was the only batsman to score a century in seven matches in the ODI series.
